I’ve not seen a cob – (cob – English word for lump) is an old-fashioned concrete, made out of a mixture of clay, sand, and straw house hand-sculpted in Sarawak. But if you plan to build one this Cob Builders Handbook is a good book to begin with. Written by Becky Bee  author, eco-builder herself it is a friendly guide to making your own earth structure, with chapters on design, foundations, floors, windows and doors, finishes, and of course, making glorious cob dwelling.
